Optical Mirrors
Scientifically-Developed High Performance Mirrors Great mirrors don't merely reflect - but they need to be built to stick and built to last. Visimax re-engineered its lineup of mirrors in 2023 to meet the demand of higher durability mirrors to perform in Space applications. Our silver mirrors have been deployed as thermal control mirrors and laser communications reflectors in Space. Our gold mirrors have also been optimized for superior durability and adhesion. And our Protected Aluminum and Enhanced Aluminum mirrors have been in-demand in the semiconductor manufacturing industry for over two decades.
Protected Silver Mirrors
Space-Qualified Ruggedized Silver Mirrors
The Visimax silver and Protected Silver coated mirrors are sought after in the Aerospace industry, no equal. They were recently qualified into a large well-known Low Earth Orbit program, which became sole sourced to Visimax because no other optical coating supplier could manufacture such a well-adhering silver coating for this demanding space satellite application.
- Ravg >95% (450-700nm)
- "The best I've ever seen" — ****VP of Quality at an American Precision Optics company
- Superior adhesion and abrasion resistance
- Available on glass, polycarbonate, and acrylic

Gold Mirrors
Superior IR Reflectance
Visimax optical gold coatings have been rigorously re-optimized in 2023, focusing on optimizing our proprietary adhesion layer while still delivering industry-leading optical performance into the far-IR. Our standard offering will be Protected Gold although Bare Gold is also available.
- Applications: Laser systems, spectroscopy, military & defense, space satellites, interferometry, beam steering, research and development
This is our onboarding process
We make getting started fast and predictable. Together we capture your optical goals, translate them into a thin-film design, and validate performance before scaling. Clear hand-offs, no surprises.

Requirements & scope
Define application, wavelength range, substrates, environment, target transmission/reflectance, and timeline. Capture risks and constraints, and align on measurable success criteria.
Thin-film design & simulation
Design the stack and simulate the spectral response across your range. Present options with trade-offs and tolerances, then lock the baseline design.
Prototype & metrology
Produce representative sample coatings for evaluation. Measure via spectrophotometry/interferometry and share trace + variance to target.
Production & quality
Scale to batch or volume with tight process control. Run repeatability checks, document QA, and approve first-article before full run.
Delivery & support
Pack and ship to spec with certificates and reports. Provide ongoing technical support and iterate when requirements evolve.
