Conductive Coatings

Visimax provides Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) transparent conductive coatings engineered to deliver reliable electrical conductivity while maintaining high optical transmission. Our ITO processes are optimized for repeatability, uniformity, and production scalability across glass and temperature-compatible polymer substrates. ITO coatings are produced using ion-assisted electron-beam PVD with tightly controlled oxygen partial pressure, enabling consistent electrical and optical performance for demanding applications.

Industry-Standard ITO

Visimax offers industry-standard ITO coatings aligned with the specifications most commonly requested by customers for transparent conductive applications.

Typical performance targets include:

  • Sheet resistance
    • ~10 Ω/□ for glass substrates (high-temperature process)
    • ~50 Ω/□ for polymer substrates (low-temperature process)
  • Physical thickness
    • ~125–135 nm
  • Visible transmission
    • ~80–88% average from 400–700 nm

These coatings are suitable for applications requiring reliable conductivity, optical clarity, and manufacturability, and are qualified through internal process validation and customer-driven testing for uniformity, adhesion, and repeatability.

Available in prototype through high-volume production.

Custom & Index-Matched ITO Designs

In addition to industry-standard ITO, Visimax supports custom transparent conductive coatings tailored to specific optical and electrical requirements.

Custom ITO designs may include:

  • Index-matched ITO layers optimized to integrate with underlying optical stacks
  • Optical tuning to balance transmission, reflectance, and conductivity
  • Substrate-specific process optimization for glass or polymer materials
  • Compatibility with multilayer coating stacks, including anti-reflection and protective coatings
  • Application-driven electrical performance, tuned through oxygen control, thickness, and post-processing

These solutions are ideal for customers who require ITO to function as part of a broader optical system rather than a standalone conductive layer.

This is our onboarding process

We make getting started fast and predictable. Together we capture your optical goals, translate them into a thin-film design, and validate performance before scaling. Clear hand-offs, no surprises.

1
Requirements & scope

Define application, wavelength range, substrates, environment, target transmission/reflectance, and timeline. Capture risks and constraints, and align on measurable success criteria.

2
Thin-film design & simulation

Design the stack and simulate the spectral response across your range. Present options with trade-offs and tolerances, then lock the baseline design.

3
Prototype & metrology

Produce representative sample coatings for evaluation. Measure via spectrophotometry/interferometry and share trace + variance to target.

4
Production & quality

Scale to batch or volume with tight process control. Run repeatability checks, document QA, and approve first-article before full run.

5
Delivery & support

Pack and ship to spec with certificates and reports. Provide ongoing technical support and iterate when requirements evolve.
