Anti-Reflection
VisiClear™ is Visimax’s family of high-performance anti-reflection (AR) coatings engineered to reduce surface reflections and maximize optical transmission. These coatings are designed for consistency, durability, and production scalability, supporting applications ranging from commercial imaging to aerospace and defense systems. All VisiClear™ coatings are produced in-house using controlled vacuum deposition processes, with a first-time-right manufacturing philosophy focused on repeatability, accountability, and long-term performance.
VisiClear™ Series Broadband & Narrowband AR Coatings
VisiClear™ Standard AR coatings provide reliable broadband and narrowband reflection reduction for optical components where predictable performance and manufacturability are critical.
Typical characteristics include:
- Broadband and narrowband designs, optimized for visible, NIR, or application-specific wavelength ranges
- Sample narrowband designs at common laser and illumination wavelengths, including:
- 532 nm
- 850 nm
- 1064 nm
- Low average reflectance per surface across the design band
- High optical transmission with minimal color shift
- Compatibility with common optical substrates, including glass and polymer materials
- Production-proven designs qualified for uniformity and repeatability
These coatings are well suited for catalog optics, imaging systems, sensors, and general-purpose optical components, and are available from prototype through high-volume production.

MIL-Spec VisiClear™ AR Coatings
For defense, aerospace, and ruggedized optical systems, Visimax offers VisiClear™ anti-reflection coatings qualified to applicable military performance standards, including MIL-C-14806 and MIL-C-675.
MIL-spec VisiClear™ coatings are engineered to meet applicable requirements for durability, adhesion, and environmental resistance, including:
- Moderate and severe abrasion resistance
- Adhesion testing (tape method)
- Humidity and environmental exposure
- Optical performance verification before and after testing
These coatings are commonly applied to optical components used in imaging, sensing, and viewing systems where performance must be maintained under handling, cleaning, and harsh operating conditions.
MIL-spec VisiClear™ coatings can be:
- Tailored to specific wavelength bands
- Optimized for substrate material and geometry
- Integrated with additional functional or protective layers as required
All MIL-spec coatings are manufactured under Visimax’s ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, with ITAR registration supporting controlled programs.
This is our onboarding process
We make getting started fast and predictable. Together we capture your optical goals, translate them into a thin-film design, and validate performance before scaling. Clear hand-offs, no surprises.

Requirements & scope
Define application, wavelength range, substrates, environment, target transmission/reflectance, and timeline. Capture risks and constraints, and align on measurable success criteria.
Thin-film design & simulation
Design the stack and simulate the spectral response across your range. Present options with trade-offs and tolerances, then lock the baseline design.
Prototype & metrology
Produce representative sample coatings for evaluation. Measure via spectrophotometry/interferometry and share trace + variance to target.
Production & quality
Scale to batch or volume with tight process control. Run repeatability checks, document QA, and approve first-article before full run.
Delivery & support
Pack and ship to spec with certificates and reports. Provide ongoing technical support and iterate when requirements evolve.
